About Airport
Security Force (ASF)
Pakistan's airport security is
under the jurisdiction of the Airport Security Force (ASF), a law enforcement
organization. In addition to guaranteeing adherence to local, state, and
federal aviation security laws, the ASF is in charge of safeguarding airports,
aircraft, travelers, and staff. The ASF is involved in anti-drug and
counterterrorism activities as well. The Pakistani Ministry of Interior
oversees the ASF, a civilian agency that was once under the Department of Civil
Aviation before being transferred to the Ministry of Defense in 1983. At now,
Major General Zafar Ul Haq HI(M) is in charge of the ASF.
